The HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-In-One Printer is a truly versatile machine, it replaces a few others like a fax (which is still used when it comes to send documents to some companies) a photocopier, a scanner, and a USB flash drive reader. In addition, the varied options of being controlled by its own touchscreen control panel, or with a tablet or a smartphone. To a certain degree, a computer per se, it's not needed.But in my opinion, an essential feature which makes this HP e-All-In-One printer outstanding, is the option of getting individual ink cartridges. There is even the choice of getting regular or HP high yield XL ink cartridges, which I call (XL) extra large cartridges. In previous years, I bought Canon printers because of the individual ink cartridges feature alone; in spite of knowing that HP printing quality might have been better. Setup: Setting up the printer was easier than I expected. The instructions on the two pages showing the different steps to be taken were simple and straightforward. I had a little difficulty with opening the printing supplies area because I tried to lift the part holding the scanner glass when I had the document feeder, which is on the uppermost top part of the printer, tilted upward when it was required to be closed. That was my error. When the document feeder is in the down position, lifting it and the scanning section together made getting to the print cartridge area easy .Installing the setup print cartridges was not difficult. The main difference between installing them and those of another HP printer that I had was that when I inserted them on the previous printer there was an audible click when installed correctly. I installed XL High Yield ink cartridges on 04/06/15 - 4 months later and only 306 pages printed, (mostly all Black), I am at less than 50% ink remaining in the XL High Yield ink cartridges.
